Most Beautiful Sight On Guam (So Far)

I can finally answer my brother's question of what is the most beautiful sight that I have seen on Guam. This passed Sunday Matthew and I went out to a park where the ocean creates natural salt water pools out of the coral that surrounds it.  Below are some pictures!!

We started by climbing up the old stairs and walking (dangerously) across narrow coral to a lookout over the whole park.

Beautiful right?  The breaks in the coral create little pools that were full of colorful fish and went from just a few inches deep to about 8 feet in some places.


This is us (and Pluto came along) at the top of that perch overlooking the ocean and south side of the island.

Look at those colors!  Yepp, definitely the most beautiful sight so far!

You could walk all the way around this part of the park because the coral created little shelves and mini waterfalls.

Here is a picture of how they had to get Pluto down! lol.

It was a good time out with friends!  The perfect location for someone that could not get completely submerged in the water due to some ugly stitches.  But I get those taken out on Friday and I will be able to get back to normal then!

So I have not been keeping up with this in the past few days considering I have been pretty busy. Thus I am going to do some quick over-views of the past few days so that I can get myself to bed. We wanted to go back to Grace since we are doing the mission trip through them and they were having a young adult meeting after church. The young adults meeting was pretty great. After we ate we had a little talk about getting young adults going again and about this new adopt a school program that they wanted us to get involved in. To Start Again

Hello everyone! I know, I know, it has been a REALLY long time since I last posted anything here.  We have since been in Great Lakes, IL for a little over 2 years now and I feel like we have made ourselves a comfortable home and extended group of friends that are like family in the area.  But of course, like true Navy fashion, and God's design for life, nothing goes according to plan. I thought here in Great Lakes there would be little to no chance of Matthew ever getting deployed. God had a different plan.  Long story short, he is now deployed overseas and has been for almost 3 months.  He will be back sometime around May 2019 (that's about 10 months total). I've been having a lot of thoughts about how my days and plan are escaping me and I have trouble remembering what I've did yesterday let alone last week.  And so, I've decided to try and take back up on the blogging.  Hopefully it will be therapeutic for me and as well as help me when I want to ...

worst monday ever! (5/24/10)

So as my title says, last Monday was one of the worst Mondays that I have had in a long time. It started off early in the morning, 7:30 am, and if you know me then you know that is not a good time of morning for me to be waking anyway. But that had little to do with the bad day. I had to drive up to Louisburg to get my mom's prescription from her doctor's office because she was in SC with my Nina. Nina had been in the hospital since Thursday with complications that they could not quite pinpoint. So I set out early to get the paper that would allow me to get the prescription filled so that I could meet my Aunt at 10:30 when she was going to leave for SC. About half way through my journey to the doctor's office my car started making weird noises and shaking slightly. I called Matthew with a slight air of laughter in my voice and told him that if I broke down that he would have to call in late to work.
