Shanghai was our last destination while we were in China.  We did a lot of walking around and exploring while we were in Shanghai, however we did not get as many pictures here as we could have.  Being as it was the end of our trip and we wanted to get as much in as possible, I didn't stop to enjoy the view and take a picture nearly as often as I had on the rest of the trip.  But, the pictures that we did get I will share with you here.  First of all the pictures from arriving in Shanghai and our walk to the "Bund".  The Bund is basically a walkway that follows a river and on the other side of the river is the business district with all the really cool buildings that you would see when you look up Shanghai on google.  So here are those set of pictures. Be forewarned:  Some of the information in this blog may be a little more than you might want to know!  First an update about the due date debacle.  I had another ultrasound a week ago on the doctor's orders so that we could try to get a better estimate on how far along I am.  *Which by the way is not a good idea because the further along you are in the pregnancy the less accurate ultrasound dating gets.  The ultrasound tech and doctor were both a little confused about the dating, just like the rest of us.  Our little girl is still stumping us.  She measures at the August 12 due date everywhere except her head.  For those of you that don't know, the head is the most accurate measurement for dating that is used.  The tech also measured her body length and femur length multiple times.  So what we got was a date of Aug 12 for the body and about 2 weeks less for the head.  So either our little girl has a small head for her age or a...

When we left Xian we went to Shanghai to check in at our hostel and stay for one night.  I will talk more about what we did in Shanghai when I do a post just about that city.  Right now I want to tell you about the time that we spent in the Yellow Mountain/Hongcun area. We took another long bus ride into the Yellow Mountain area to our hotel for the next two days.  The first room that we checked into had a few minor setbacks to it:  Matthew couldn't fit through the door without ducking and could not stand under the shower head without squatting!  Here is a funny picture of just how tall he is in this country. We were lucky the place had "Western" toilets instead of squatter toilets but the ceiling of the whole room was only about 3 inches higher than Matthew's head.  We politely requested a different room even though the owner "Mr. Hu (who)" was just trying to make it easier on me so I would only have to climb one set of stairs instead of 3.  ...
