Finally Have A Date!

That's right, I finally have a date for when I am heading over to Guam to be with my husband!  BUT ...   you are going to have to wait for that exciting news while I tell you some other business!  :)

First things first:  last time I left you I told you about all the paperwork that has to be done before I go to Guam.  That is still the same!  A lot of paperwork has to happen in order for things to get rolling with the Navy.  And it always takes so much longer and is so much more difficult than you think it should be.  So what I am waiting to be able to do now are three things:  1) Get my No-Fee Passport (basically a military passport)  2)  Get confirmation on shipping the household goods to Guam.  3)  Find the best time to take the car up to Portsmouth, VA to be shipped out as well.

The No-Fee Passport is something that has to be done in VA too.  So the car and the passport may get done in the same day.  The only problem is that it has to be done on a weekday and Nina, Mom and I want to make a weekend trip of it.  So there is a scheduling thing to work out there.

Shipping the household goods is supposed to happen on the 15th of July but I have to keep calling and checking when the paperwork has been processed to make sure that date stays the same.  That day should be a fun day though!  (note:  there is sarcasm accompanying that last sentence)

OK, now for the information that you have all been waiting for.  I have a flight out of RDU for July 31st.  It is a Wednesday morning flight and I will be getting to Guam on August 2nd at about 2am (their time).  I also have a 6 hour layover in Japan!  So if anyone has been in the Tokyo airport and has any suggestions for what to do for 6 hours please let me know!

Moving Right Along

So with the due date nearing and the anticipation of finally being able to hold our precious baby girl, I thought that I would share a little bit of my everyday normal for now!  I am one day away from being 38 weeks along and let me tell you:  I have one active baby inside me!  Yes, she loves to move around and kick/punch mommy in the gut, ribs, and pelvis!  Some of these kicks are so strong that I actually jump!  For those of you that don't believe it could get that bad...oh have I got a treat for you!  I recorded a mere 1.5 min video of my belly!  Now this video is only a small taste of what she does ALL DAY LONG!  And yes at night too!  It's no wonder I have such a hard time sleeping.  So without further ado, here is Ms. Isabella Marie Ohrvall staring in her first movie entitled:  Making Waves in Mommy's Tummy.  :) Update on presentation:  Isabella is still breech and we are diligently trying all that we can to ...

37+ Week Update

So I know it has been a while since my last post.  I figured it was about time for me do another update blog on the pregnancy.  It will be pretty short cause there is not much new to report. I had an ultrasound at 36 weeks last week to get  an update on how Isabella is progressing and what position she was in after a few weeks without knowing.  If you have been keeping up with me on facebook then you know how that turned out!  We didn't get any news from the ultrasound other than the fact that Isabella was still sitting comfortably in her breech position. The following Monday we had an appointment with my OB to get the rest of the information that we were wanting to hear.  She told us that Isabella was growing appropriately and was looking healthy!  So good news is awesome to hear!  Of course she then proceeded with the news that we already heard, Isabella is still breech.  We reviewed our options for turning and delivery and decided to t...

April Update

I thought that since I had not given an update in a while that is was about time I did.  So I am going to tell you what has been going on this past month. Matthew First  (because his is shorter than mine): Matthew had his certification test this past month as well as his E4 qualification exam.  He took the E4 exam before he had certification tests.  The E4 exam has a lot to do with why he was assigned to unaccompanied travel to Guam.  He was supposed to be ranked up to an E4 before he could be sent overseas as a accompanied traveler.  (If that doesn't make sense to you...join the club)  But, luckily  Matthew feels like he did well on the exam so hopefully he will be ranked up to an E4 and there won't be any controversy over me joining him in Guam.  Then there's the certification tests; these are the tests that he takes at the school for learning how to be a Naval K9 handler.  Matthew feels that he did really well on these tests ...
